Waiting to move, stuck in Atlanta

Alright, some of you may know that I've been planning a big move over to North Wales with my girlfriend(Aranel on the boards, she was here the past 2 months but went back today). It should have been today, but due to some annoying passport problems, its been delayed a week or so. I'm not any more than annoyed at this point...and bored.

So I'm here in Atlanta(well, Woodstock, GA) for the weekend of the 4th and maybe another week. I'm bored. I've got nothing to do but cruising some Comic/Game Shops on Free Comic Book Day(Saturday). Anyone know of anything interesting going on around here now? I've been living in Florida since March so I'm a bit out of the loop...

Dude, don't do anything. Whatever you do will probably end up costing money, and the last thing you need to be doing so soon before such a major move is wasting cash because you're bored. Re-read some books you have, work on your campaign world, or just catch up on your sleep. You'll have plenty to do soon enough - save your money for that.

There's got to be a few EN Worlders from Hotlanta that can steer him toward a game to make the weekend pass more quickly... :)

Well...its major yeah...but not impossibly major. I've pretty much cut down on nearly everything I own. Three big bags...a backpack for laptop, etc...and a few boxes with mostly books in them. I always swore I had enough clothes, but now I realized I fit ALL of them into one bag.

I'd re-read stuff...but its all packed away. Campaign world is a good idea...but I'm kind of out of it when it comes to hard thinking(and it required that at this point...putting pieces together). Had her around for 2 months straight(only the second time we'd met in person, the first was two years ago...known each other for 7 long years now) and she's partially developing the world. The parts that need work are connecting some of her ideas to overall things...so that must wait. Sleep? Hmm...its 1:30...you know, I just realized that if I stay up half and hour later, she'll have arrived in London by now. Gods I do need sleep. Plan C it is!

...and Mark: I did try getting my old group together. None of them were ENWorlders...all around my age. But man, I never realized how hard it was to keep up with teenagers these days! Stupid kids...;)

EDIT: Oh, and wasting cash here can be a good thing, as when I get there my money will be worth near half as much. Its been best to buy as much here as possible because its just so much cheaper here in the States. But I've really gotten everything I 'have' to have by now...just kind of waiting for the stupid passport to arrive(again). Cursed typos.

I shot a few emails out to some of the old school EN Worlders and hopefully they'll get them before the weekend has come and gone. There's plenty to do in a town like Atlanta but with any luck there will be some support from EN Worlders coming to make it all that much esier.. :)

there is always the Fireworks displays around town. :D

Stoned Mtn Park... aka Dollywood Park ... or whatever they call it now that Dolly Parton, Inc has the rights... puts on a decent show.

don't do the fireworks downtown unless you like getting caught in 4 hrs of traffic for a 25 min show.

it is gonna rain here all weekend. violently tonight. and with scattered showers the rest of the holiday.

Did you know Angelsboi at all, either online or otherwise? There is a small gathering/memorial planned from Saturday night. From the sounds of it, all are welcome, but I don't want to post any kind of big notice and overwhelm them.

I only talked to him a couple of times. That's what I get for lurking nearly half a year...I'm not sure I'd feel right going to that.

Fireworks...hmm, I may drag young sibling out to Stone Mountain or something. When did Dolly Parton, Inc buy it? I hadn't been there in years anyway...
