Wand of Shocking Grasp

Quick question: Activating a wand of shocking grasp allows the user to make a touch attack, as per the spell, correct? I tend to think that's the case but a part of me wants to treat it as a ray attack from the wand. Any official rules / opinions? Thanks.

It's a touch attack. I usually let the caster use the wand.

The wand casts the spell. The spell is not a ray, but a touch attack.

Rules wise, there isn't any reason it shouldn't do anything other than what the spell does (i.e. make it so the user can then touch attack someone to deliver the shocking grasp).

Opinion wise, it would be a better visual to have the electricity come from the wand.. but, again, back to rules wise, it keeps more continuity if it simply leaps a spark to the user's hand or something and therefore allows the user to do a touch attack as if per spell itself.

since I've never had a PC with a wand of a touch spell, this is what I would do:

PC has wand of SG in one hand. The other hand better be free. PC casts SG with wand, and delievers touch attack with free hand. Other wise... the spell is discharged by the other hand touching an object.
