Wands and 1 Round Duration Spells

I have a question about spells with duration of 1 round. Most of these are swift actions. A wand that holds a swift action is still activated as a standard action. Suppose a character (a rogue, for example) activates a wand of golemstrike. The activation is a standard action, while the spell lasts for one round. When does that one round start? After the standard action used to activate it, in other words the character can still benefit from the spell on the following round? Or does the spell only last until the character's next turn?

Thanks

It ends at the beginning of your next round. Which makes them useless (or only usefull for attacks of opportunity). Odd that they even list a wand of golemstrike in the book the spell first appears (complete adventurer?).

I'd assume the person making the list thought it would work.

Or to allow the rogue's wizard buddy to cast it on him if before him in initiative. It has its uses.

Thanks for the answer.

Buy an Extended version of the spell that lasts two rounds.

Hurray! I didn't think of that either. How much does that cost?
2nd level slot, 1st level caster OR do you need 3rd level caster?

2nd level slot. 3rd level caster minimum. So a wand would cost 4500 gp when fully charged. A scroll would be 150 gp.
