WANTED Melee class that can stand up APPLY WITHIN

Well, divine shield is interesting, but given Endur's relatively low charisma for a Dwarven Paladin, Divine Shield didn't make as much sense. Magic vestment or a magic shield would provide a comparable bonus. I didn't see anything that would easily replace Divine Might.

I was assuming a high CHA built, otherwise the Divine Might does not make much sense... except if you play with free action activation.

I once played a bladesinger duelist. I couldn't hurt much of anything, but I had good AC (53 when I buffed myself, at level 13).

If you want a character who will live, try playing a troll. You get into melee, they trash you, you fall down unconcious, they go on to slay the wizards. You stand up after the battle.

If you want cheese, take a standard character mentioned above, give him any template to make him an outsider, and polymorph into a demon/devil. You can get up to 15 natural armor, which goes a long way.

This sounds like a DM difficulty. If melee types die all the time, and the back-liners never do, talk to your DM and ask him to change his tatics. Opposing archers and spellcasters should be going for your back-liners, not the people in melee. If you just face spell caster, the melee character should be able to get right up to him and slash the hell out of him.
