War-based modules

Hi folks, long time no talk.
At some point in the future of my 3rd edition Magnamund-based campaign, all of the northern continent will be plunged into an epic conflict of vast proportions.
In trying to look ahead and assuming the campaign will last that long, I'm looking for modules I can use during periods of large scale war.

These adventures don't have to assume the PCs take one side or the other; or even that the PCs choose a side; it can be pure survival in the face of conflict, or fighting alongside their countrymen, no assumptions except the conflict is a. large scale and epic; and b. not hugely extraplanar.
I'm just trying to cast as wide a net as possible to find modules/adventures based in a war torn large area or with a war theme.
Any edition, I can adapt older stuff to 3.5

Some I've already thought of:
Red Hand of Doom;
some of the original or updated Dragonlance modules during the war of the lance;

Any others?

War of the Burning Sky is large and epic, and not hugely extraplanar.

What level do you think your game will be? The adventures with the biggest, most direct interaction with 'war' are:

#1 - The Scouring of Gate Pass, set in a city as it falls under assault. Level 1.

#3 - Shelter from the Storm, where you get involved in negotiating an alliance against a greater threat. Level 5.

#4 - The Mad King's Banquet, which involves an enemy nation trying to subvert one of your allies and create infighting so they can fracture the defense. Level 7.

#9 - The Festival of Dreams, which occurs in an occupied city as you aid the resistance. Level 17.

#12 - The Beating of the Aquiline Heart, in which your armies kick the ass of their armies. Level 20.

X4/X5 -- Master of the Desert Nomads, Temple of Death -- have to do with a continent-spanning war, in which the PCs play a small part akin to a special operations role.

X10 Red Arrow/Black Shield may continue that -- I don't have the module so I'm not completely certain.

Is my memory failing or wasn't Bloodstone Pass pretty much a big war based adventure? Maybe it was just the BattleSystem stuff or something....

This (and yes, X10 continues the theme. It even has a mini-wargame included.) I would also recommend C1: Test of the Warlords.

I14 Swords of the Iron Legion - from back in the day. It's tentatively set in the Forgotten Realms, and is a strung together anthology of related adventures/war skirmishes that eventually does lead outer planar, but that can be avoided.

FRQ2 Hordes of Dragonspear - also set in FR, remains grounded on the prime, with outer planar leadership (namely some devils) but never heads off plane. And includes both defense and offense skirmishes, and adventurer strikes.

I don't know if they are epic enough on their own, but might have enough interesting ideas to mix in.

War in Heliopolis by Avalanche Press has a short scenario set in a war battle with neat chart for little random events that happen in the party's area during the battle. Its mostly an Egypt d20 sourcebook with poor mechanics but the pdf is pretty cheap at $3 on rpgnow.

The Witchfire mega module from Privateer Press ends with a full blown invasion of the town by an undead army.

And the PC's are leading it :cool:, so I thought that was pretty cool. When I ran that series of modules my players had an absolute blast with them. The invasion is handled well, and the "raising" the army is pretty cool as well. It is not strictly speaking an entire war. It is more the opening battle. But wow, what a battle it was.

I believe the old 2E Castles boxed set, which had a castle for Greyhawk, FR, and Dragonlance had an entire "Campaign" about a border invasion with overland progress map and all that jazz for the undead army for the Dragonlance castle in the set.
