One of my players is a WoW crackfiend; he's going to try his hand at DMing once this gets released.

And from the looks of it I'm going to be picking up a copy too, heh.

Speaking of Warcraft... is that the revised version of the Warcraft RPG or is that a third version, basically?

I see that lots of PrCs are now core classes. I don't like the proliferation of core classes, but I don't terribly hate it either. But if they've made better technological item rules, that alone would be reason enough for me to buy the book. As things stand now, they need a lot of DM intervention to prevent mid-to-high level tinkers from turning Warcraft into Battletech.

Most of those are to line up with WoW -- people aren't going to sit down at the table and want to be told they can eventually be a hunter instead of doing it from the start, like in the MMORPG it's now modeling more closely.

Some of them aren't from WoW, like a necromancer core class, but I wouldn't be surprised to learn that they're a core class in a near-term expansion.

It sounds like once controllable siege engines are added to WoW, this won't be too far off the mark, for good or for ill.

Two Questions for those in the Know:
1) Anyone know if this will have a new point-based/mana magic system or will it still retain the old D&D magic system?

2) Will the WarCraft Monster book get revised to reflect the changes or no?

All I had heard is that it was supposed to be more like WoW (I think I recall reading something about a mana based system) but that it would be as backwards compatible with the existing supplements as possible.
