Two Questions for those in the Know:
1) Anyone know if this will have a new point-based/mana magic system or will it still retain the old D&D magic system?

Mike Johnstone wrote this in a thread about WoWRPG :

Spellcasting: We've gone with a "spell slot" system that retains the feel of standard d20 fantasy spellcasting but also some of the feel of a mana points system. It's very flexible and open. Everything else about spells stays the same: spell levels, spell stats and parameters, descriptions and effects -- with tweaks here and there to make any SRD spells fit better with the Warcraft setting.

2) Will the WarCraft Monster book get revised to reflect the changes or no?
AFAIK there are no plans for that ... but time will tell... Most of it will be compatible, and Arthouse will provide a Conversion Document.

I see that lots of PrCs are now core classes.

There will be a new Core-Class, called the "Arcanist". Within this Class the Character may follow one of three Paths: mage, necromancer, or warlock. I think the same was done for the Healer-Class.

Speaking of Warcraft... is that the revised version of the Warcraft RPG or is that a third version, basically?

Its a Revision to reflect the Feeling of the WoW and to streamline the rules. And IMHO it's OGL, so you don't need the PHB. Check the above Link for two interesting Post from Mike. And check the WW Insider Spring 2005 , pp. 29 for the Forsaken Race and Paladin-Class.

Hmm. Must not be much to the Necromancer class if the Warlock starts on the same page.

Looks like the mage, necro, and warlock receive some brief breakdowns, as offshoots of the Arcanist class, followed by elaboration on what they can do.

This is one I'll look over before I buy. I'm pretty happy with my current Warcraft books, so if they aren't that much of an improvement I'll take the info I have on the Forsaken and just plug them into my games and let the new edition sit. However, I do have to say that the idea of making the Warcraft RPG feel more like WoW (which the original books already do for the most part) is a good idea and it is interesting, but with money being tight I need to be careful with where I spend my gaming dollar.

The spell slot system does not thrill me, there are enough mana/spell point systes out there that it seems silly not to go with something closer to WoW.
