ARCANE CATASTROPHES | LAST CALL: Taverns of the Dying Lands, and what's wrong with them | borglite
  • SYSTEM: MÖRK BORG
  • PRODUCT TYPE: deck of cards/softcover zine/business card sized RPG
  • RETAIL PRICE: $11/$11/free
  • DESCRIPTION: ARCANE CATASTROPHES is a deck of 52 standard-sized playing cards that expand on the Arcane Catastrophe table in the core MÖRK BORG rules. When magic goes bad, each card adds outrageous complications that change the shape of the current encounter and could possible result in a character-melting magical disaster. The deck is only for the brave, only the strong. Advantages: PCs will look at this deck like a ticking bomb and will be more prone to committing entertaining mistakes. Drawing a card forces a player to reach out and pull their own catastrophe from a special deck giving the whole thing a ritualistic weight. LAST CALL: Taverns of the Dying Lands, and what's wrong with them is filled with everything needed to create a memorable and distinct tavern experience full of adventure hooks and improvised encounters. Inside: a d100 x d100 table with a thousand possible tavern names, d100 NPCs to avoid or party with, d100 rumors (idle banter, lies, the start of a new quest, and more), d100 events ranging from the surely fatal to the merely catastrophic, d100 distinguishing features the PCs will never forget despite their efforts, and dozens of grubby interior illustrations that provide that "someone else had their dirty little hands all over this before me" feeling. In borglite: a business-card-sized RPG, concise rules that are sparse yet robust and pulled with love from the guts of MÖRK BORG, and the feeling you’re being watched.
