Legend
In my Ptolus game there is a theocratic empire beset by civil war. One side has a church mage/artificer named Lord Cannith who has discovered a process using ancient magics to create sentient church golems for the war effort. He has started creating legions to be sent against the other side. People are starting to hear about these warforged and rumors are starting to spread about them on both sides.
I've got a few but I'd like to hear other suggestions.
1 Their creation corresponds with the recent births of soul-less children. Souls of the unborn are actually used in the creation process to grant the warforged sentience, thus stealing a vulnerable soul from a woman's womb elsewhere in the world.
2 The warforged are holy vessels of the Lothian church that provide a housing for Lothian's angelic servitors to manifest in the world and join the fight directly.
3 The warforged are intelligent, but like all golems are absolutely bound by the commands of their creator, Lord Canith.
4 The warforged are chaositech creations that house the spirits of evil fiends, servitors of the fiend lord who has corrupted the central imperial church.
5 They are actually plant creatures, some type of vine folk, with armor bolted onto them, not constructs.
Any other suggestions?
