Warlock Feat Choices

Yeah, there are far, far better things for a Warlock to spend a feat on than Weapon Focus. Flyby Attack, for example.

Not at 1st level - but how are you getting 3 1st level feats on a warlock unless you're using Flaws? Point Blank Shot and Precise Shot should about 95% of the time be the first two feats your Warlock should pick up. The only exception is if you intend to be a melee warlock. Even then, you can't take Weapon Finesse at level 1, so why not go ahead and get PBS and PS?

A few better 1st level feats:
Ability Focus (Eldritch Blast)
one of the Heritage feats (Fiendish Heritage or Fey Heritage)
Skill Focus (Use Magic Device)
Battle Caster

At low levels, there's a fair number of tiny or small, high-dex monsters to fight, so weapon focus at low levels could easily be worth it.

Sure, but you're looking at Eldritch Blast as though it were your only option. You've got wands of color spray for little things that want to melee, you've eventually got chilling tentacles to take out whole rooms full of small monsters, you've got area attack blast shape invocations, you've got swarms... and so on. Eldritch Blast is great against low to moderate touch ACs, and that's all. With Point Blank Shot, that's another +1 to attack within half your range increment.

But let's think in terms of a party, and the rock-paper-scissors of class roles instead. That AC 15 Halfling Rogue? He's there for the Barbarian to cleave. Your Warlock should be killing slowly oozing oozes and clanky gnolls in scale mail.
