Quicken Spell-like ability is that good. You'd be a fool not to take it ASAP.
RigaMortus said:Maybe I am reading this wrong, but if EB is considered a 1st level spell OR whatever level the essense/blast makes it, you would never be able to apply Quicken Spell-like ability to it. QSLA requires that you apply it to a SLA that is at caster level 10th or higher. So again, as I read it, an unmodified EB would have a caster level of 1, or it would be modified by one of the essence/blasts, none of which I beleive are over 9th level. So how would you ever apply QSLA?
Slobber Monster said:EB Spell Level = 1, or essence/blast level
EB Caster Level = Warlock Level
RigaMortus said:Ok, that makes sense. But what doesn't make sense is, why wouldn't the EB Spell level also be equal to the Warlock's Level? What is the reasoning for seperating EB's "spell" level and EB's "caster" level?

Slobber Monster said:It puts it in line with every other spellcaster in the game - e.g. a Level 6 Sorcerer gets 3rd Level Spells. Spellcaster level affects checks for Counterspelling and Spell Resistance, so this must stay in line with casters of equal character level. Spell Level affects things like the aformentioned feat eligibility and Lesser Globe of Invulnerability. They chose Spell Level 1 to make sure it would be eligable for the SLA feats.
