Warlock's Wrathful Magic feat (Arcane Power)

Hello all!

I'm sorry if this has come up before, but the search form gives me an error every time I do a search, so I can only look for this automatically.

Now to my question: The tiefling has this racial encounter power 'Infernal Wrath'. In Arcane Power there is this feat 'Wrathful Magic'. This feat allows you to use Infernal Wrath when you miss with an arcane attack power. Does this let me use Infernal Wrath more than once per encounter? Or can I just choose between two triggers per encounter with this feat?

Thanks in advance! :)

Nope. It says specifically the following: "When you miss with an arcane attack power, you can use your infernal wrath racial power as a free action. You gain the benefits of infernal wrath against the target you missed, instead of against an enemy that hit you since your last turn. -other stuff-"

However, this feat was based off of the pre-errata Infernal Wrath, when it was a Minor action to use. So you basically got to make it a free action to use the power rather than a Minor, plus you had a few more options on who to use it on (since you now could designate someone you were attacking and had missed on, rather than having to wait for someone to attack you-- good for those classes in the back line who might not get attacked as often).

However, the new post-errata Infernal Wrath has become a Free action itself now, rendering most of the feat redundant. You still get to select other opponents though (since the current IW target is still base on someone who's just hit you.) So it's not that great of a feat in my opinion, but might be situationally useful for arcane casters still in the back line.

Ok thanks! :-) I thought this was the case as well. But like you said, this question came to mind after seeing the erreta because it seemed so useless after that. Especially since there's also erreta for the feat to 'keep in line' with the changes to Infernal Wrath.

Oh well, feat is quite useless, question answered, thanks! :)
