Warrior's Strategy Guide -- Opinions?

It was too number crunch and meta game like for my tastes. It does what it was desinged to do very well though, so if the book idea sounds good to you; you should like it.

Pretty much a word for word.

My problem wasn't with the number crunching so much as it was in sticking with SRD material. I'm pretty good at pulling together SRD material but what happens when you add X, Y, and Z? It's a different ballgame.

I think I was the lone ENnies Judge who really liked the Warrior Strategy Guide. Yes, it's really min/max and munchkiny, but I though that it was also really fun to play around with. I've used it for a few characters, and I'm letting my players look at it while rolling up their PCs, but not referencing it after that without my approval. ;)

It does have some very useful advice, but as has been said, there is nothing new in the book, just ways of acheving the most bang for your feats, classes, and skills. The probablility and damage charts are really fun to play with as well.

I heard a "last-minute" edit really hampered it's usefulness. I think the biggest problem was supposed to be the Power Attack table.

I don't own the product, however, so I can't confirm the rumor. (The rumor was what kept me from getting the product.) I believe this is discussed at Sean K Reynold's forums.
