WARSHAPER too strong?

Oops, sorry, Andor!

In that case, I agree. :D
Heh. ;)

Just didn't want his opinion to go unnoticed; he brought up a valid point, as did you.

Thanks for the nod. :D As a side note, this option is allowed the the Mark of Heros living campign. I intend to show them the error of their ways with my 10' reach, greatsword weilding, fast healing changling fighter/warshaper.

Yikes. Really, though, the fast healing 2 hasn't come in all that handy. The full-round for 10 hp is rarely useful, but the Concentration check is tough. The best thing about fast healing 2 is that the Cleric doesn't have to waste any more Cure spells on you after the battle. The other abilities are great, though.

Thank you are the correction, cignus_pfaccari and Caliban.

Put me in the definitely not overpowered camp then. This PrC increases the survivablity of the wildshaper in melee in a flavorful way at the cost of flexibility. The immunity to criticals is not arbitrary, but necessary -- animal shapes have low ACs and lucky criticals tend to get confirmed.

Hm, my Dire Bear shape has a pretty high AC. Anyway, a drawback of being Wildshaped all the time is that you can't speak with your party members.

If my GM held me to that, we'd be screwed.

The first level of Master of Many Forms lets you speak while wild shaped. ;)

Actually, I think the PrC could be overpowered in a situation no one's mentioned -- if the character has the shapechanger subtype. In Eberron, both changelings and shifters qualify when they get BAB +4.

Normally, neither of them has terribly impressive shapechanging abilities, but as changelings are often in disguised form 24/7, all those abilities come into play. If you're concerned about the powers at all, I'd take this one off the table for Eberron campaigns. I know if I was playing a Changeling, this would be a no-brainer.

Agreed. Remember that if you use this to turn your druid into a frontline fighter his druid levels only grant medium BAB, he doesn't have bonus fighting feats, and he loses out on the big buffs, caster level based buffs and other spellcasting and wildshape improvements that might make him a better frontline fighter anyway, especially if CD is involved. Also, he cant summon or have as followers as good critters that share his buffs and fight alongside him. He might still have Animal Growth enough, but Nature's Favor, Brilliant Aura, Nature's Avatar etc will be weakened, out of reach, or less available, and he loses out on, or gets far less of some great combat spells like Firestorm, Earthquake, Heal, Harm, etc.

I would bet that with the same level of optimization, a Druid 20 will beat a Druid15/Warshaper5 in a fight, or at least be fairly even.

As stated before, warshaper is a lot better for shapechangers. My PCs once encountered on an out-of-the-way island an order of Wereraptor Monk6/Warshaper4'. Now THOSE were fun.

A Barbarian/Bear Warrior in my current campaign wants to take this for roleplaying purposes, and I'm worried about it being underpowered in this combonation. Although, it should make for some fun roleplaying.

Pfft. :p I'm taking enough PrC's now as it is. Maybe after I finish my first two.

Once a Druid has a thousand faces, this isn't a problem anymore. The Warshaper abilities even function while in Human form.

From SRD:
You can change into a member of your own kind or even into yourself.
