Was the cancer mage ever updated?

I bought and sold the BoVD a while ago since the only things in it that interested me were the cancer mage, ur-priest and vermin lord. I know the ur-priest was updated and I have good alternatives to the vermin lord.

So, was it ever updated and are there any good alternatives for the concept by 3rd party companies?

maybe something was in the Lords of Madness book or the Heroes of Horror...or even the LIbris Mortis

i can't remember. but i'm sure there is something already out since BoVD.

There are a number of neat PrCs that were never updated. Lasher stands out in my mind.

For a thematic replacement, I would recommend the Mother Cyst feat from Libris Mortis, and the cyst line of spells.

According to the Wizards Consolidated Lists Archive the only publication of the Cancer Mage was in BoVD.

Nifft had a thread in HR here which did alot of 3.5 updating to that list; I wonder if it has anything about the Cancer Mage in it... link's here, if anyone cares to check it out.
