Watching films at the cinema - also, RIP David Lynch.

I have a TV that is bigger to watch (as I can sit closer to it) in appearance than most movie screens.

I also have my own personal projector and theater if I want to watch it that way.

I still go to the theater.

I can honestly say that the only movie I think was valid to be watched in the theater more than in one of my home spaces was Avatar and Avatar Way of Water.

That's just because of the entire 3d thing.

I also have to say, I've watched a lot of movies I've seen in the theater on a tablet with a very good headset.

That can be FAR more immersive than what you get in a theater. The sound is...just better in many ways. More personal. And the tablet...if you want something bigger...get closer to it or whatever. I decent size tablet is going to be just as decent for you in the dark as a theater screen (for me it is, at least), and you'll probably be more comfortable.

Some of the best movie watching experiences was on a Tablet, not on my TV and not in my Theater. Blade Runner was actually far more impressive to me when I watched it in that manner than I'd ever had in the theater, or in my home entertainment. Sound plays a MASSIVE part of the experience, and having a good headset that can relay the sound gives so much to the experience I can't even tell you how much it changes.

So many public theaters don't have good sound systems. The one I have at home is decent, but it still doesn't seem to replicate the entire experience you get with the headset. It's just....different.
