Ways to Make Spells Harder to Dispel?

Elric

First Post
Besides increasing the caster level, is there any way to make your spells harder to dispel. There isn't anything in the core books. Does anyone know something (like a feat that makes your spells 2 levels higher for the purposes of caster level checks when being dispelled) that can do this?

Thanks!

I don't recall reading anything though, however it is quite possible there is one.

Edited for stupidity reasons.

there is the tenacious magic feat from forgotten realms that makes it harder to dispel your spells, but it requires the use of the shadow weave, and requires the shadow weave feat.

Don't the Books of Eldritch Might (I and/or II) have some feats that do something along these lines?

Anything that increases your Caster Level would likewise make your spells harder to dispel. A lot of Domains do this. Some Epic Level feats do this. Is it Incense of Meditation that gives Clerics +4 Caster Levels?

You get the idea.

Clever custom spell

I've seen no official spell of feat that can do it (though I don't have magic of Faerun).

One of my players has come up with a strange spell that might fit the bill though. He calls it dispell trick. Basically its a 3rd level spell that always counts as the highest level spell on a character. Also, it has a 1st level caster level. I may require him to just leave it at 3rd though.

So any area dispell starts with it (the counts as highest part) and probably dispells it (the 1st caster level). Thus the area dispell is done, and hasn't removed any important buff spells.

Targeted dispells still do it though. Everything can go there.

If you want to talk customized spells, just make one that gives all of your spells a bonus against dispel checks.

Maybe +1 per 2 levels? Cap it around 5 or 10. Make it last only a minute a level or something like that. No idea what level that would be though.

As for your custom spell Ricimer, that actually is pretty clever. A decoy spell for the Dispel Magic as it were. Coolness. :)
