Haven't bought a WOTC product or licensed product since the scandal, and have no plans to. After great products like Dolmenwood, the indy / OSR scene is where it's at for me.

Their drift to "digital" and AI integration does not restore any confidence.

Really want to get some Dolmenwood products! Looks awesome

But also I love the WOTC stuff they released last year. Super enjoyable and useful books. As a TTRPG fan I'm pumped they got some stuff into our hands last year!

Well, you always could as long as you'd bough the book(s). The stuff on my shelves would last me several lifetimes.

To be fair, your tables's ability to play D&D has never been dependent on WotC.

Sure, but that is not the point I was making. Every point doesn’t have to encompass every other point. I can say my car is red without having to list the colours of every other car I’ve ever seen.

I was just responding to an idea with which I disagree. WotC isn't and can't stop any table from playing whatever D&D or any other RPG they want, provided they have the materials. None of us are dependent on them at this point. The OGL helps with new product. So does the Commons. Neither of them have anything to do with whether or not a given table with books is dependent on the company who published them. I'm happy both exist, because I like new product, but that's not the statement to which I was responding.
