We got banned from a house!

Somebody in my group acquired a child last year, (that's a different story) and at DunDraCon this year he was stuck babysitting, so he brought the boy along. One of our other friends taught the kid to say, "Score!" whenever he rolled this set of huge 6 siders.

I'm sure he's completely forgotten that by now, though he and "dad" have only been to 1 game session since the Con.

Keep us informed if you can Particle Man. :)

Hmmm...it looks like rumour outpaced the truth. An email from mom indicated that there was no "lightning bolt at the preschool" incident, but that mom and dad were worried that the child, through what she was talking about in dramatic play, was getting a distorted view of reality, and so wanted a "cooling off" period to monitor the child. But we are personally welcome to come visit, etc., just not game at the house. So not quite as dramatic as I had thought.

On the one hand, I am glad the kid did not get into trouble at school. On the other hand, the "lightning bolt at the preschool" just sounded so good, it should have been true even if it wasn't. :)

I'm haven't been allowed to watch "Buffy" with my niece Sofia since she was about 18 mo. old. :( It used to be her favourite show! (back when all she was interested in was moving colours)

It does make a heck of a story. I wonder if this will ever reach the "urban legend" status that the Gazebo story has...

"No kidding, this guy in my gaming group's daughter was trying to cast spells in daycare and they called the cops on her..."

That sounds a lot better. The mom sounds a lot more reasonable now. ;)

Its important for people to remember how much children look to their parents for modeling behavior.

Still, the other version makes for a more interesting story.

Yeah, I heard that after they took her down to the police station, they called in Special Occult Researchers from the government to eximine her before they even called her parents!

This actually sounds worse to me than the initial report.

My gut reaction, after reading only one side, is that the parents are trying to squash all imagination and creativity out of their child.

In their defence, they seem to my eyes to have encouraged the kid's creativity in other ways. I think they just don't want it to be D&D talk at her age right now.
