Complete Warrior has some good low-CR constructs.

I'd like to see some "build your own" guidelines, similar to Astral Constructs... Guess I'll have to sit down and think a bit.

I really dislike the "Craft Construct" feat. I think it is too restrictive a feat. The Item Creation feats are a mishmash, IMO.
