This is actually completely true, I'm afraid. God does not play dice and doesn't like games that use them either. He is very fond of Everway and Amber Diceless Roleplaying, however.
I'm sorry, but Quantum mechanics has firmly proven that not only does God play dice, the dice he uses are loaded. :D

Oh, and, great note from the sister. Love the response. But- only 13th level? Mang, you need some serious experience points!

Well, if nothing else, quantum mechanics provides a quick and easy way to dispose of the cat. At least, that's what that nice Mr. Schrodinger tells me... ;)

His mother survived? A 1st lvl commoner, and she survived?

Pffft.

You can't tell from looking. Sure she looks like a commoner 1 but there are many other options within the rules. Anybody can have classes with unlimited levels now. Not to mention templates or monster types that can mimic human commoners. You just don't know if he's playing under a RBDM. Or maybe its just a DM who makes the challenges faced magically scale with character level.

That reminds me of yesterday, in the lunch room at work - a bunch of my co-workers were talking about something one of their daughters was doing - basically teenage rebellion - and someone made the remark "Well, just be sure that she's not sneaking around playing D&D behind your back" in the same tone of voice one would usually use for warnings of drug or alcohol abuse.

I don't believe she was joking.

Well this isn't bashing, but still religious....

I'm a unitarian and considering creating a new group with my churches Ministerial intern, who is a lapsed roleplayer, but still plays Chez Goth, Settlers of Catan etc.

I'm not sure if Saturday night would still be the best time for the group to meet :)
