Weapon creation

So I haven't played DnD since I was 14, with my older brother DMing little one-shot campaigns for me and my other brother.


I have JUST joined a DnD group, and have been invited to join another. The group I'm a part of now, the DM let us all make some kind of "Custom weapon/item" and knocked out some stats and a price tag for them. I'm more...practically minded and asked for a pair of bracers which are hidden weapons. One fans out into a bracer type shield, and the other into a short-sword (Think the werewolf leaders sword from the first Underworld movie)

Anyway, for the other group I'm going to ask the DM if I can choose a custom weapon for that character, as long as it's not an Uber Ridiculous weapon, (Like a wand of Fireball with 3 charges and recharges every day)

I would like someone with more knowledge than me with DnD weapons, to come up with stats and such for this "Buckler blade" from the video game series Dynasty Warriors.

I'd swing towards the "Crane" type of weapon. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dont know the series but the pix looks like a dagger projecting from the side of a shield for slicing/stabbing so treat it as a shield when used to block or a dagger when used offensively.

That weapon is a very short spear that is "Speared" at both ends. The shield acts as a scabbard (sort of) so the spear can be drawn out and wielded with your non-shield hand.

I'd say it's a Shield, and a Short-Sword/Dagger (it's not big enough to make it count as a double weapon and give you 2 attacks, but I'd let you use it as either one of those weapons).
