Weapon Hardness and Other Materials

I was wondering in d&d 3.5 does the weapon hardness change when it is forged with a diffrent meteral. Im pritty sure the hp would be the same but wouldent the hardness change. Its like saying a Adamantine would be as easy to sunder then a normal sword and thats just strange.

Hardness and hit points both change. The hardness is based only on the material; an iron weapon has iron's hardness (10), regardless of type. Hit points change, too. Take a 10 hp weapon that is (by default) made of steel. If the weapon is made of adamantine, it has 10 * (adamantine hit points per inch / steel hit points per inch) -- as I recall, that's 10 * 4/3 = 13 hp (rounded down).

Thanks. what set me off was a section in the players guild that armor hardness was based of meteral but dident say anything about weapons (or i dident see it) table 9-9 in players guild (3.5) page 166.

thanks for your help.
