Weapon Names

On a less serious note, a barbarian in one my my one-shots (played by the same player as in Pledge of Tyranny) took cues from the party wizard and named his oft-Power Attacking warhammer Inflict Serious Wounds, with plans to eventually get a +5 thundering impact maul and call it Disintegrate if I chose to continue the game into high levels...

In "Dungeon of the Crypt" by Eric Boyd (Dungeon #127), an NPC's standard magical gear has been given unique and interesting names (spoilers):

"Shadowstrike" (sword of subtlety)
"Clenched Fist of Karlyn" (amulet of mighty fists +1)
"Mantle of Amahl" (cloak of resistance +2)
"Gauntlets of Rhynda" (+2 bracers of armor)

I guarantee that I will do the same in my next campaign. I'll *never* prosaically announce that the party finds a "ring of protection +2" when I could come up with "Baryn's Bulwark" instead.
