Weapon Proficiency

When we say that a pc is proficient with a weapon, is he proficient with all sizes of this weapon?

Exapme:
proficiency with Longsword --> proficiency with Longsword for both small and medium characters

I would say no... not sure of the RAW on this, but my gut tells me no on this one...

Where the RAW is concerned, I believe the answer is "Yes".

THe answer according to RAW is "Yes" ...
Add the flavor to your game and make it "no"
Make your players happy.. and go withthe RAW

Keep in mind that while a weapon proficiency is good for all sizes of weapons, characters still suffer a cumulative -2 penalty to attack rolls per size catagory different from their own.

By game term, the feat eliminates the -4 nonproficiency penalty to your attack rolls. HOWEVER, having such a WP feat would not eliminate the size penalty to your attack rolls.
