Weapons as Implements. Working as intended?

Ok, so according to this thread of custserv responses, and to abyssaldeath's reporting of WotC_GregB's comments, this shouldn't work.
I said what now? WotC_GregB's comments only said that there was going to be an update. There is ABSOLUTELY no indication as to what that update will be. It could clear up all the Weapons as Implements and Implements as Weapons issues so that they work like I've been saying they do or it could say the opposite. Also, customer service has ruled both ways.

why do Sorcerers get Daggers natively as an implement when none of them work with his powers?

No one is saying that NO powers/properties work, we're just discussing ones that reference weapon damage. Runic Daggers work fine, as does Vicious, Jagged, Paired (great for Dual Implement Mastery), Duelist, etc.. I can go on and on and on listing magical dagger enchantments that work, but I trust you get the point?

We're only talking about a very small subset of items here, not everything. Plus, Sorcerers also get access to Staffs as another implement choice, so it's not like they're solely limited to daggers here. A Sorcerer can use a Staff of Acid and Fire just as easily as a Wizard...heck, it might even be good if he goes with Fire Dragon Soul and then picks up Acid Orb and Burning Spray for his At-Wills!

Funny, those are some of the "weapon" enhancements I have the most trouble seeing on "implements"
