Where is the 3.5 information on how to determine damage for a weapon designed for Large-size creatures? (e.g., a morningstar designed for an ogre)

Thanks a million. I note that an ogre wielding an ogre greatsword deals 3d6 damage. I can make one of two jokes*:
1.) The ogre is rolling up new characters for the people he kills.
2.) In 4th edition, the ogre will roll 4d6 and drop the lowest.
* To use the term loosely. I also rejected the following for being out-of-date:
In Living City, the ogre must use a point-buy system to determine his damage, since we can't trust him to roll his own dice.
