Weapons of Legacy?

I was looking at the new Weapons of Legacy book and one thing that bothered me was that (IIRC) a single legend lore spell reveals the entire history of a weapon of legacy. Wouldn't it be better if it only revealed the next portion of the history, and then another legend lore spell would be needed once that portion has been completed? The legend lore option just seems to gut the whole historical research aspect of weapons of legacy.

I'm not familiar enough with legend lore to know if it would, but as a DM I would rule that it shows you the history and NOT the rituals that you have to do in order to get the powers of the weapon/item(I'm just now reading WoL, and I havent decided if I like it yet or not)
