Website for First Edition?

Anyone know of a good website for 1 edition D&D? My old DM,a nd his son my best friend, moved back to town yesterday (Yay for me). We all got together last night and my friend (Cameron) wants to get a group back together at first edition. I have no problem with this, I have the rule books and have played before, and Camerons dad is a fantastic DM.

What I'm wondering is there any decent site around for 1 Edition? I'm not wonderfully aquainted with everything. They don't have a phone yet so asking questions to them is limited for the time being.
I doubt there is another site with forums as active as this dedicated to rpgs.
Can I just ask questions here and expect to get answers?

Check out www.dragonsfoot.org org

It's geared towards earlier editions of D&D. I like the site, but the 3e forum is kind of pointless - it's basically just a whipping-post for all the 3e/d20-haters to tell everyone for the umpteenth time how 3e sucks.

EDIT: Whoops - somebody beat me to it. Yeah, watch out for the trolls, especially if you like 3e.

Yeah... Dfoot can be rough on the 3E players, but honestly, t's no different than the BS posted in the WOTC OOP forums for a long time by the "threetards" (as some folks like to say over at DF about the overzealous 3E/D20 players). Not that two wrongs make a right, but I don't see any problem in having a place where the folks who truly dislike X can go someplace and whine about it if they want to..without a bunch of people trying to get them to "see the light" or "convert" them...

I see alot of B&M sessions here about how "bad" some rules systems are...why can't the grognards at DF do that too without being labeled a Troll?

I see what you mean, but...Dragonsfoot put up a 3e forum. If it's just to bash 3e, that's fine. But I assume it was put there for actual discussion. Trying to get a converation going about 3e on the 3e forum there almost always gets bogged down in a flurry of posts by 3e bashers. That's what I mean by trolls. It's not an occasional thing there, as it is here - it's almost constant. In effect, the 3e bashers are trying to proselytize also.

Agreed Col...I'm not sure why It (the 3E forum) went up unless it was the only way to keep MerricB from pestering them constantly (jes kiddin merric!) ;)

Personally, I love all the versions of D&D and it's just nice to have a place to go to like DF and talk about 1E or the brown books, etc., without getting the "3E is so much better" sermon...

But I also understand the difficulty in trying to have a meaningful discussion about 3E there...

some folks are just plain ignorant....no matter where ya go...
