Well, I'll be.......that's awesome!

Just wanted to say....you converted one of my trolls from issue 199 of Dragon!

That's cool! Between that and Paizo updating the Fire Troll for the Dragon Compendium, it's like getting published all over again.

Hey, you're welcome! That was an amusing troll, I have to say. Any other monsters you have that still need converting? :)

Thanks!

Alas, that was the only monster article that ever got accepted...it's amazing how little love they had for Spelljammer at the time, chuckle. They did like my pit traps article later though.

Well, seeing your takes on any of the other remaining trolls in that article would, of course, bring me glee, but no actual needs on my part. Just finding that someone found one interesting enough to convert is exciting.

Is it just the gray troll and stone troll left? Sure we'll get to them sooner or later, but Shade's in charge of timing. ;)

Those two and the trollhound. Nothing says you're in trouble like a pack of regenrating wolves...

Like I said, no worries, but if you do do them, I'll be keenly interested in the conversion.

Cool indeed! It's always fun when one of the creators of the monsters we convert drops by.

I'm defintely looking forward to converting the rest of that article. Good stuff.

While you're here, I've got a question for ya that came up during the conversion: Why "phaze" rather than "phase"? Just curious. ;)

Ah yes, the "Z".

Really that was just me not wanting to wholly copy, nor suggest a connection to, Phase Spiders, specifically any correlation between the phaze troll's abilities and the ethereal plane.

I also, though I never penned it to anything submitted in the article, saw the Phaze Trolls as suffering from a low level hallucinogenic state due to the magical or underdark radiation, rather like being short, angry troll hippies (with blood, claws and rending instead of peace, love and flowers). And in my youthful (at the time) gamer mind, "Phaze" seemed to make me see them as imbalanced oddballs of the trollish family tree.

And that, as daffy as it is, is the whole story.

Great! Thanks for sharing. :)

I was afraid it would turn out to be a regional spelling like armor/armour, color/colour, and so on. :heh:

I didn't realize we haven't gotten to more of them yet. :) Welcome to ENWorld and the Creature Catalog!

Shade: Glad to have the opportunity to share. Well, the NorthEast is known for a lot of things, (especially the misrepresentation that everyone in Massachusetts speaks like the residents of Boston, which is categorically untrue), but Z for S is never one I've heard of. Thankfully.

Boz: Thanks, I've peeked through the CC before, and read through some of your conversion threads, but I never bothered to actually see if mine had been converted. Decided to do that today on a lark, and was pleasantly surprised.
