West Coast SHARKCON!

Greetings!

Teflon Billy! There you are! Yeah, well, since this is in the planning stages, the time may be able to shift around a bit. The cost is flexible as well, as I mentioned most of it would simply be for the hotel and food costs. I'm thinking of a friend of mine for example, who owns his own Mexican restaurant. The food is excellent, and He could cater some food for instance. I have another friend who owns a Chinese Restaurant, and a friend who owns his own sandwich shop. I could make some catering deals with all of them, and they all have really good food. The hotel, well, I could make some arrangements with a nice one, though I'm sure they would want some money down to hold a bunch of rooms, so I would imagine I would need to coordiante with everyone who wants to come, a system of reservations and so on.

Zenon, this will be something pretty fun! I'm looking very forward to meeting you my friend!

We'll see how many people can fit this into their schedule, and when, and hopefully we can get something going.

Semper Fidelis,

SHARK

Thanks for the invite!

Keep me posted on developments to this, my email address is in my profile. It would be a cross country trip so I'd need a lot of lead time on when (and then that darn financing thing creeps out of the woodwork) to see about vacation scheduling, etc.

As someone pointed out, later in the year might be better with Gencon at the end of July.

Shark, plan on a cost of 1200 bucks. It's better to have more money than you need then to have less. Besides, the extra can be used as seed money for Sharkcon 2004.

Sounds like you're putting together a "relaxacon". Check with the hotel about getting event rooms along with the suites, and see if you can get a special deal on room nights.

Very Important: Make sure you get the hotel's permission to bring in outside food. A special Sharkcon discount on hotel restaurant meals would certainly be a good idea.

I'm going to the Comicon this year, so it doesn't look like I'll be able to attend your fest. Have you given any thought to including supporting memberships?

In any case, good luck.

Greetings!

Hey Zappo! That was funny my friend!:)

Well, The Sigil, Teflon Billy, Zenon, we will have to plan this carefully. Indeed, I am planning to attend Gen Con also!:) Maybe it would be better in October? I'm certainly willing to kick around different ideas and suggestions.:)

...a group of us, all together, taking turns DMing and playing in each other's campaign worlds. There would be lots of goodies, good booze, fine cigars, lots of top-notch food, and we could all pony up and nail down a group of suites at a major hotel...

Sounds like my kinda party! I'll bring the small batch bourbon!

I'd drive/fly down for this from the Bay Area. I might not be able to stay every day as my vaction time may be gone by then, but probably the weekend + a day on either side. How about an early Fall timeframe to avoid the GenCon conflicts?

Hmmm. It might be cheaper to do this in Vegas though. Ahhh Vegas - more than 48 hours there and you are convinced it's worse than Avernus...

I'm fairly flexible on when. I wasn't planning on Gencon (which I guess I should have seeing how this is the first year it's closer that Wisconsin), so if October works better for others involved, it's good for me.
