WH40k Rogue Trader

I still hope for a game or sourcebook that lets me play my marine, but for now, they allowed for an incredible range of options with Dark Heresy.
The Deathwatch sourcebook is still on their list of future products.

You can play your marine and I can play mine, even if they are from different chapters.

This isn't a book about the Imperium, it's a book about one tiny aspect of the Imperium. You play an acolyte in service of an Inquisitor, period.

Is there anything in the book which forces you to play as an acolyte? You have classes for criminals, clerics, techpriests, guardsmen, etc. A lot of things other than the Inquisition can be played with that.

BL old plans included a third game that would cover Space Marines. This game would have come out a year and a half after Rogue Trader (IIRC).

Does anyone know if FFG has hinted about such a game?

And now that the whole 40k RP is over, let''s see who guessed it.
I wouldn't discount Eldar in some form or Kroot mercs making an appearance as playable races in Rogue Trader. I would discount your other ideas from ever seeing print only ... well... based on Nights Dark Masters introducing vamp campaigns, Children of the Horned Rat introducing the skaven campaign and Tome of Corruption bringing Chaos / beastmen / Norse campaigns ... nah they would never do that with 40k would they? :erm:

If ToC, CotHR and NDM sold well then perhaps we will see something similar in the 40k line.
Into the Storm - Ork, Kroot.
The Navis Primer - same, but with Weirdboyz and more Shapers.
Also...
Tau Character Guide - obvious.
The Soul Reaver and The Dark Kin - yup, them too.

EDIT: And I’ll take ganger scum over ][nquisitor lapdogs anyday, thank you much. I got no qualms with the ultra-grimdark setting & playing a doomed character is fine by me. But I’m not too thrilled with playing a patsy for the corpse cult that has co-opted Humanity’s destiny. Only Dark Heresy campaign I’d be interested in playing would be one with the goals of to finish killing the Emporer and keeping the empire of man intact long enough so the Emperor can be reborn. Unfortunately I’d strongly suspect GW would forbid a published product with that storyline.
...and FFG heard the words of the heretics. And there was Black Crusade. :heh:
