Whamageddon (Last) Christmas

I can't remember ever not being uncomfortable with that one.

Kinda want to hear the 30-second non-icky version.

"I really must go."

"Okay, but it's cold outside. Should I call you a cab?"
I think that's one where I didn't really listen to the lyrics that closely until I got older.

Where would you place Baby It’s Cold Outside? I honestly can’t listen to that one anymore now that I’m aware of its implications.

I still like the song from a melody perspective and the call/response singing. I personally recognize it was written in 1950 and a lot of the subtext and turns of phrases had a different meaning then than it does today. But if someone else is bothered by it, I totally get that too.

There are a few Tom Jones songs I've had that with, because the mood of the song is really at odds with the lyrics. Delilah, It's Not Unusual, to name a couple.
I can still remember hanging out with one of my older cousins once. We were playing a board game and had the radio on. I must have been a preteen at the time. Angel in the Centerfold came on, and I was happily, ignorantly singing along, and my cousin was like, "Don't sing along to that! Don't you know what it means?" I did not. I can't remember if he explained it to me then or if I found out later.

I also went to a conservative Christian school. Freshman year of high school, our religion teacher did a whole segment on "bad" rock 'n' roll songs like the Stones' (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction and Simon & Garfunkel's Cecilia. Haven't really been able to listen to those songs ever since.

Haven't listen to randomized music in quite a while, so three days into December I'm still going.

So far this year the only Christmas music we've had is stuff I've played myself (I'm teaching myself the recorder).

Day 3, I'm out. It is entirely my fault for being hyperactive with the car stereo. The quick access buttons are beging me to change stations often and for the pettiest of reasons. My fault entirely.
