What´s your Arcane Trickster like ?

I really love this prestige class, but i´ve ever have been able to become one (started a rogue/wizard but the campaign died off). And I always wanted to know how other people built there Arcane Tricksters. What stats, feats, major skills, spells and what familiar did you chose.
Tell us how your char is and what makes him tick.

The only character I've ever played who was a Trickster was a Sorcerer 6 / Rogue 4 / Arcane Trickster 2. The character concept is that he's a thief who uses his innate magical talents to enhance his sneakiness/stealing abilities. He had a lot of spells that would either conceal him or that could be used as diversions. Spells like Feather Fall, Cat's Grace, Dancing Lights, Ghost Sound, Darkness, Silence, Mage Hand, Open/Close, Jump, Animate Rope, Fly, Gaseous Form, and Arcane Eye are all helpful.

Skill-wise, I poured skills into all the usual Rogue stuff: Open Locks, Pickpocket, Tumble, Balance, Climb, etc. As with all casters, it's not a bad idea to max out Spellcraft.

The character's feats weren't anything incredibly clever: I took Martial Weapon Proficiency so I could use a Rapier, Weapon Finesse with the Rapier, Quick Draw, Improved Initiative, and Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Hand-held Crossbow). Mostly stuff for style and personality.

For a Familiar, you've got a few options. I myself took the Pseudodragon, just because I like the animal. You might consider a cat (which if I'm not mistaken gives a bonus that would be useful to the rogue, my memory's a bit sketchy) or a toad (for the extra HP).

All in all, it depends on your style. My Trickster was mostly a thief who just happened to have been born with magical abilities. :)

Two feats, actually. A medium-sized rogue is proficient with the rapier, so you wouldn't need Martial Weapon Proficiency with this one either.

He's not medium sized, the character's a halfling. :D

For a Familiar: Choose something useful, anything that flies!

A toad can fly: ya just gotta toss him. ;)

Then that's a whole other bag. You can only have Weapon Finesse with light weapons (weapons smaller than your size) or, if you're medium-sized, rapiers and spiked chains. So your halfling could only have Finesse with Tiny weapons, like dagger, khukri and the like. To wield a rapier, you'd habe to wield it two-handed (since it's larger than your character).
