What 2nd-level Monsters Need Converting?

Um, maybe the Decapus? That should be good for about level 2 or 3 uh I think.

I don't know exactly what's in the new MM, and it's been a while since I really took a look at some of the obscure fun stuff, so I'm drawing a lot of blanks.

I'd like to see the Cave Fisher (I think it'd be a good level 3 to 5 controller or lurker, myself).

Looking through Monster Compendium 3...

Here's some I'd like to see:
Bladeling
Hybsil
Dragon, Amber.

One thing that is very much missing which you could add: Mephits. Those little elemental imp bastards.

Just looking at level 2 in the 3e MM mind you:

Ape
Lantern Archon (;))
Bat Swarm
Black Bear
Dire Weasel

And before you ask, my vote for 3rd level:

Dire Ape
Giant Praying Mantis (Give it some love)
Giant Wasp
Shadow

I have no idea how, but I completely missed your post before.

Excellent ideas. Thank you!

That the MC Annual 3? The Hybsil are those deer-centaurs, right? They'd probably work at the same level a centaur is.

Amber dragons are one of the interesting non-standard dragons (well, I always wanted to use them, they live in pine forests, eat tree sap and cast druid spells), but I have no idea how 4e changed dragons around.

Even though I guess it's frowned up now, remember, the 1e shadow was about the only (maybe THE only) monster that could do ability damage. Perhaps restore it to its rightful place in 4e. :)

A good simulation of the old shadow's touch would be an attack against Reflex that deals necrotic damage and inflicts the Weakened condition (save ends). Maybe an extra rider effect if the target is bloodied.
