I wonder why WoTC didn't just design a 5.5e version of the 3e Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting book. The latter had material for both players and DMs.

That is what the Player's Guide to the Forgotten Realms (place holder name) is supposed to be, it was mentioned I'm the D&D Beyond Article it has the general Setting info update in it. The DM book is a mix of regional guides and a FR focused DM book, might have FR monster and/magic items too.

I'm looking forward to the Forgotten Realms guides, as I can't find physical copies of the ones from previous editions.

That being said, waiting until FALL 2025 is going to be tedious. I wish we had these books sooner, while my son and his friends are still very interested.

I lucked out last year and found a copy of the 3e FRCS hardcover at my FLGS.

I'm looking forward to an announcement for a 5e mashup of ad&d2e's player options: combat and tactics smashed with 3.x's unearthed arcana/phb2 type stuff. Kinda surprised we haven't seen anything like those yet and just keep getting more of the same doubled down.

If Not Friend, Why Friend Shaped? (Working title).

Fingers crossed the title stays.

Looking forward ro MM 2 for LU:A5E and Delve by Bob Worldbuulder, if that counts.
