D&D (2024) What Adventure Should One D&D Launch With? (+)

I think a Forgotten Realms adventure, wide ranging like SKT or ToD, but not on the Sword Coast, somewhere else, Sea of Fallen Stars, maybe a bit much, Western Sea of Fallen Stars perhaps and a setting book to go with it.

My group found Lost Mines to be such an average adventure. There was nothing memorable about it at all. I am surprised how often people refer to it.

It’s an incredibly well structured adventure, but yeah, also pretty bog standard theme and details. The generic done really well is why people appreciate it I think

Phandelver has a really tight, contained storyline and yet is also a sandbox adventure. It is a masterpiece of game design for starting players. Its fans include the Russo brothers (Avengers Endgame, etc.) who famously said that they play through it regularly, and I feel like they know something about good story structure.

I would like the next starter set to be similar in having a tight storyline contained within a small but complete little world so that the players feel like they have autonomy.
