What are the best Cyberpunk supplements?

Now I know how to answer people when they ask why I hang my virtual hat out at EnWorld... so many folks good at tweaking the rules... :)

Ocelot {aka Gary, aka Barrier Peaks..}, I have been using your work since I first found it back in... 95? Glad to see your still in the game, and still tweaking the rules :)
That's me: the quintessential lurker.

I never picked up Rache Bartmoss'.. books.. Their good enough to try and track down?
Well, I like them. But then again, the rules for netrunning have always been a bone of contention with a lot of players. Some people hate them, some people like them. I always enjoyed them (with a few tweaks, naturally), even if they weren't realistic and were occasionally cumbersome.

That said, I enjoyed the Bartmoss books. Guide to the Net is a lot of fun to read, though I'm not sure it's real valuable from a "crunch" point of view. Brainware Blowout is more like a Chromebook for netrunners, with lots of stuff inside. Plus, they took a lot of stuff from the Netrunner CCG and adapted it to 2020.

Ha, the Ocelot delurks. Well. :)

Those drug rules look great, by the way. Haven't had a chance to go through them thoroughly just yet, but from what I have read, I'll be using at least some parts of them.

Don't know how I missed them, actually - I've had Blackhammer bookmarked for a while.. (too many sites, not enough time..?)

So far, I've tracked down the missing Chrome, Grimm's, Rache's BB, Wild Side.. and a couple of other things.

Thanks guys!

Well, I trained my players to think long and hard about wether or not they wanted to use stuff from the chromebooks: "I'll use anything you take from those books" is a basic rule in my games....

Wildside, and listen up you primitive screwheads, got the mostmilage for me.

That and blackhammer.

Paging Hellhound for more Cpunk goodness :D

Listen Up You Primiative Screwheads....

Maximum Metal

Chrome books I-IV

There was a series of books that allowed you to introduce Horror into the CP setting and I remember using them for a lot of different games (Cthulhpunk for example) and can't remember how good they were for the core. They weren't produced by R. Talsoarian but were desgiend for Cypberpunk 2020. Man, senility is really setting in after not playing a game for 5+ years.

I didn't like Maximum Metal as it moved the game away from street-level, most of the stuff you wouldn't use in a street-level cyberpunk game.

Chromebooks and Black Hammer for equipment.
Listen up you primative screwheads.
Wildside
Night City Sourcebook

Then campaign type specific ones like
Protect and Serve
Corp Source Books.
Live and Direct

Cyberpunk 2020 shall live on as the best Cyberpunk'ed genre game of all time ;)

Get the Chromebooks ASAP. Chromebook 3 is so-so, but 1, 2, and 4 rock. Part 4 has a big style section in the back that is 100% required IMO. Chromebook 1 and 2 have alot of great cybernetics and weapons in them.

Maximum Metal: Wait on this, after all, running around in power armor and tanks is not very Cyberpunk. In a down and dirty street game, none of this material will really ever come into play.

Listen up You Primitive Screwheads: The Unexpurgegated (?) Guide to Refereeing Cyberpunk: Awesome book. Great ideas from plots, settings, overall feel, and variant rules. Read this book from cover to cover, twice.

Wildside: Details Fixers, and has 2 more important roles in the work: The prostitute and professional thief, both have alot to offer in a cyberpunk setting.

Protect and Serve: The Cop book. Used almost every session of every game I have played.

Pacific Rim: The new martial arts stuff in the back is a great addition to your game.

Books to avoid: can't remember thier names, but the book on Media's and the book on Rockerboys. These roles have no place being part of a group of PC's, at least in the style of game I run. Great for flavor and setting, but the last thing on the planet you want when doing things you want no one to ever find out about, ever. I just don't see these roles bringing alot to the table, so a book on them is a bit of a waste.

Eurosource: Never used it, when running around the remains of the US, a book on Europe doesn't do much for ya.

Hope this helps.

Damn, you are way too nice for Cyberpunk ;) :p

I limit my players to purchasing equipment with Excellent or Common availability only upon character creation. Fixers are allowed to buy 1 item of Poor availability if they so choose due to thier background. All that neat, deadly stuff in the Chromebooks...my players don't get to used it until they peel it from the lifeless cyberarm of the guy who tried to kill them with it.

And, long live the Colt AMT Model 2000 :p

I have Eurosource.. it's OK.. but what's the deal with Eurosource Plus? Functionally much the same, or is there some really good extra stuff in there?

Solo 1 is being a bit tricky to track down. Solo 2, found. All Chromes accounted for. Listen Up? Gotcha. Most of the good stuff is on its way already, actually.

Protect & Serve though - I missed that one entirely. Next time. .

edit -- so the Media book's not much chop? I heard Rockerboy was a bit naff, which covers both, plus a bit of Braindance and such, but is Live and Direct (if that's the one you mean) no good too?
