Estimated list from "Best Sellers at Amazon.com" top 100.

#2 [edit: star wars]
#3 [edit: Warhammer Heretic and Warhammer Fantasy RolePlay]
#4 [edit: World of Darkness: Hunter, vampire, exhalted, etc.]
#5 [edit: no others mentioned in top 100 OPINIONS?]
#6
#7
#8
#9
#10

Warhammer Heretic?
Warhammer Fantasy?
Savage Worlds?
Mutants & Masterminds?
Call of Cthulhu?

I'm not talking about what your favorite systems are but what the highest numbers of players are playing nowadays.

Opinions?

No one but perhaps WotC knows.

But my money is on 4e, then I have no idea, maybe Vampire? Or WoD?

WoD actually has a much larger reader-base than player-base. This is subjective, of course, but from personal experience I see WoD books fly off the shelves and almost never being played. No doubt they're the 2nd place to WotC, but as for 2nd most played game? Tough call.

Hmmm... maybe see what was registered for a recent con? See who played what. I think that, other than some poll or survey, would be your best bet for solid numbers.

While I will agree WoD books are much more enjopyable to read then most other games out there I doubt anyone can really say what people are doing after they buy them unless you are checking in with the people after they buy them.

At Origins WoD/Exalted are usually pretty numerous as games being played. If we take White Wolf as a whole they are number two. But if we divide up their different games I'm sure they would have many in the top ten.

White Wolf would definitely be high up there, second to only D&D.

I would say that Mortal be first (since you need the Mortal Book to play). Vampire, then Changeling (that has shot off like a rocket), Werewolf, Hunter and Mage I dunno what order they would place (probably Werewolf and Mage would beat Hunter, but it has done quite well too and is this year's WoD setting), finally and sadly Promethean be last.

Oh why, oh why must my favourite RPG be the least played.

Other big ones... Well Exalted obviously, probably be around the Vampire-Changeling amount.

For non WW, I imagine Call of Cthulhu is doing well, same with Star Wars, Warhammer and perhaps Dark Heresy.

I expect that, following D&D, we've got White Wolf's Storyteller line, then Old World of Darkness, followed by a very steep drop off into lesser-known games. Warhammer FRPG and Dark Heresy are probably up there pretty high, and Call of Cthulhu (in its many forms, including Trail of Cthulhu) follows that. Star Wars probably trails them. GURPS has plenty of players, but probably less than CoC or Star Wars. I expect Mutants and Masterminds and Hero are just under those. Traveler and Paranoia still have decent followings, although the latter gets less long-term play and more one-shots. Unknown Armies is up there somewhere, likely tied with D20 Modern and associated spin-offs. Spirit of the Century and Nobilis do decently; couldn't speak for Deadlands, but it at least gets people talking on boards.

And if people still play Paladium games, they aren't admitting it. :)

This is just my observation from the internets, though.
