I voted AV and Other (for DDI).

I've never really used a DM screen, and Martial Power is only useful for (duh) Martial classes.

I voted for AV, the DM's screen (since I DM!) and Martial Power.

If I were going to run a homebrew planar game, MotP would be on there (and it is a pretty decent book -- not great).

None of the above are essential. I've got more value out of my DDI subscription than any of these.

Martial Power, Alea's Noble and the mounts, vehicles and Items by Level appendix of Adventurer's Vault are worthwhile.

Official WoTC:
  • Adventurers Vault
  • Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting
  • Forgotten Realms Players Guide
  • Manual of the Planes
  • Martial Power
Draconomicon - (meh, I've got so much fluff material, and convertable crunch material, for Dragons, that I really don't think I'll EVER need any more).

Open Grave - (kind of the same as above, really don't need anymore "Undead" supplements. I've got enough of those to last a lifetime.)

Character sheets and DM screen - I prefer to make my own or use ones others have made. I think they are usually better than the "official" ones anyways (and you can't beat the prices;)).

GSL Others:
  • Advanced Players Guide (Ari Marmell - Expeditious Retreat Press)
  • Forgotten Heroes: Fang, Fist and Song (Goodman Games)
  • Feudal Characters: Noble (Alea Publishing Group)

I voted DM screen and AV. Not much else really interests me that much, and even those that do certainly don't strike me as a "must have."

But maybe I'm thinking more of necessary than "so good you're stupid to not get it!"

I'd imagine DDI is good, but I need the physical books and artwork to feel fulfilled. Is that stupid?

I agree with Starglim. None are essential. Some are more useful than others. I found martial power useful and I think the DM screen is just grand. A shame it's got the old skill challenge values on it. :erm:

I reckon I could run a campaign using just the items in the PHB so I dont rate Adventurer's vault highly.
