Horses for courses. I have moved more towards a lighter style of play as I have aged. Though someone looking at my Solis People of the Sun book said: "It's full of math!" Which isn't exactly true, except kind of; you don't have to interact with it.

I won't say I haven't moved slightly back from my peak here, but I still want a bit too much game level engagement for a rules light system to serve me. I was serious when I said that if I got to the point I couldn't handle a certain degree of rules I would find something else to do.

(This is not to be read to be critical of people who are happier with a lighter approach, other than to the degree they project it on everyone).

True, though it also subjective in I think my rules light might be closer to medium, some people may have never played a rules heavy game, so they are moving from medium to very light. Except depending on interests, such I am ok with more work designing a spaceship, vs building a caster. Whether or not that is a common thing I don't know.

The first part is absolutely true, and I acknowledge that even above that, there's differences in where complexity lays. I occasionally get looked at like I'm insane when i mention that I think the Hero System is simpler in many ways than most modern versions of D&D (and possibly even some older ones, once spellcasters are in play).
 

Weird that there’s no “They like the game we play” option in the vote.

Personally, I’d like to rotate a few other games in (CoC, Twilight: 2000, V:tM, Shadowrun. Can you tell I’m genx?) but they like their 5e of a Tuesday.

“Open to new systems but enjoying current system” covers it. Also “if it ain’t broke”

Though I can see the latter being kind of a reverse negative (in other words, suggesting people who may only find the current system acceptable but think its just as likely another one would end up not being acceptable).

That's a little different, I think from "Not interested in another system because they actively like the current one."
