I am the GM, and my players are my friends, so any Christmas presents are probably going to be non game-related and more me-related, although I would not be surprised if someone got me the World of Warcraft RPG Horde Player's Guide.

That's pretty cool. What make and model, do you know?
No, I haven't decided. My birthday is in January, so my wife said we could do a combination Christmas/Birthday gift and get whatever guitar I want. Right now I have:

1. A 1995 Yairi steel-string acoustic that plays and sounds fantastic.
2. An Aria classical acoustic (nylon string).
3. An Ibanez 540S (good metal or fusion guitar)
4. An Epiphone strat copy (so-so)

I play blues and classic rock, but lately I've been getting into jazz and western swing. I've always wanted a Les Paul, so I'm going to look at some Les Paul Standards. I also want to look at some hollow-body electrics, which would be really good for jazz or western swing. Gretsch makes some nice ones. So does Gibson. I'd also like to have a really nice acoustic with built-in electronics (my Yairi lacks electronics, and I don't want to drill any holes in it). So I'll probably also look at some Taylors or Martins.

Right now I'm leaning towards a Gibson or Gretsch hollow-body electric, though.

I am the DM of the group so I won't be buying anything for my DM (although I am waiting on a few books to come in the post if that counts).

I seriously doubt that any of my players will be getting me anything for Christmas too. We have only been playing as a group since about April this year and 2 of the guys I didn't know before then so I can't really expect anything.

I was thinking about doing something a little different for our final session before Christmas on the 20th of December. Maybe everyone can bring some food to share and we can have bonbos, etc.,

Some sort of gaming kris kringle would be cool but I think that I may have left it a little late for that.

I'm currently DM of 2 groups, and don't really need anything game-related...certainly not DM-related, as I'm winding it down soon. However, I've been stocking up on goodies for the guy who'll be taking over. :)

As for the group I currently play in, that's a tough one. The DM (also a long-time friend) is tough to buy for at the best of times, except for a few fail-safes (beer, mini's, magic cards).

One of my players got me Complete Divine (he plays a paladin/cleric, surprise!) a few weeks ago. I can't imagine anyone buying me something, but I'm certainly open to it. :D

Ah. Well who doesn't, eh? I wouldn't mind one myself, actually.

Nice. I don't know much about Gretsch (other than from checking out their website just now), but yeah, one of the guitarists I used to gig with was pretty keen on Gibsons.

Either way, that has to be one of the best presents I've heard of in a while. You're a lucky man.

I bought my flatmate (also our current DM) the Black Dragon Icon miniature for his birthday recently, may be getting him Cityscape for Christmas...

The chance for him to make me bang my head on the desk rather than the other way around, as it looks like I'll be running a game for a while and letting him handle one of the Horrible Miscreants we call PCs.
