What are you going to buy this Dark Friday?

Best deal I got:
Pan's Labyrinth on sale for $10 with a free movie ticket to The Golden Compass inside.

Guy at register rings up a $4-off coupon for the movie.

Result: Great movie and a movie ticket I would have bought anyway for $6. :)

I woke up, laughed at the idea that people had been up for hours trying to buy things, played on my brother-in-law's Wii, ate leftovers and installed their new chandelier while by brother-in-law and my wife took all the kids to see Enchanted.

I have found my dislike for the consumerism of Christmas to be growing with each passing year. I still get gifts for my friends and family, but have a budget for my shopping and don't feel like I am showing less love because I could have bought more with that budget if I had been willing to work harder at getting a deal. The thought behind the gift is what matters, not the value of what I buy.

Father-in-law dragged my wife and I into Short Hills Mall in New Jersey. It wasn't bad because I don't thinkt they had any sales, lol.

He got me 3 new Brooks Brothers dress shirts for work...sheep in wolves' clothing :]

I'm not buying anything...unfortunately...

You would need to pay me, a lot, to go into any traditional store on Black Friday.

My poor mother works at a department store, and she had to work on Friday; thankfully, she didn't need to work the first shift (when the doors opened at 5am), but it was still a zoo, and the store looked like a tornado had gone through by the end of the day (the folks who worked the final shift had to spend several additional hours after closing, putting the store back together for Saturday).

So, the only things I bought on Friday were lunch and dinner. :)

Never have liked even the thought of going out shopping on Black Friday.

This year, I spent the day building a wood bunk-bed for my two daughters' dolls.
