What are you playing or running at So Cal?

Since pre-registration for Gen Con So Cal starts tomorrow, I figure it's time to start talking about what events EN Worlders are going to be running at the convention, and what cool stuff you're planning to sign up for.

Sang Lee and I are going to be running a "Kill Monsters & Win Money" tournament on Friday and Saturday, one round every hour from 11 am to 11 pm. See the link in my .sig for details.

I'm also going to be doing a seminar on "Monster Ecologies: Get More from your Creatures" Friday at 11 am:

Are the classic monsters in your campaign getting stale? Let the authors of the celebrated Masters and Minions series show you how ecosystems can put new life into old creatures. If you love the "Ecology Of.." series from Dragon Magazine, this seminar is for you! We'll cover life cycles, symbiosis, migration patterns, behavior maps, and more--all with a focus on making your game more fun.

and on "Professional Game Mastering: Getting Paid to Play" on Saturday at 11 am:

Actors and musicians help support themselves by giving live performances. Since you've spent years developing the art of creating a great roleplaying experience why shouldn't you do the same? The founders of Otherworld Excursions survey the different ways people have found to make money running RPGs, discuss the issues involved, and offer practical advice.

How 'bout you?

I go to cons like these to play RPGA stuff. There's a group of friends that I play RPGA modules online with through the year; a group of us are getting together to be able to play face-to-face at GCSC.

So, I'm looking at playing the Living Force trilogy, and then some combination of Living Arcanis, Living Death, and Legends of the Shining Jewel.

Just as a heads-up for those thinking about going to GCSC...while the convention technically runs from Thursday-Sunday, the line-up of scheduled events on Thursday is going to be fairly small, and the exhibit hall won't be open on Thursday. (Apparently, they decided to do this because Thursday was poorly-attended last year, but they didn't do a great job of announcing this change to attendees until the past few days.)
