Roger Penrose's new book "road to reality" - non fiction
Great review of all most all mathematical physics (Although I dont buy what he says about quantum mechanics)

David Gemmel's "Legend" - Not bad, certainly no work of literature but good to relax to. (Penrose is not very relaxing)

I'm now reading "The Honor of the Queen" by David Weber. Excellent military sf series.
