SAP followed by a silver dagger
Nearly everyone of my heros is wearing these two weapons.
The sap because sometimes you want just to knock out someone.
Tha silver dagger because everybody heard this horrable storries about

Dire Flail I have liked the idea of the flail since before D&D really. As a kid I thought that the Flail was just a cool idea.

I bet myself that someone would say that, and another bet that it would be you. :p

i was gonna just go with spoon... a la Alan Reichman(sp?) and Kevin Cosner's poor attempt at Robin Hood.

but after thinking spoon. the natural course said.. go pole arm.

I usually play bards or rogues or rangers.

Weapons I like to use with those characters: rapier (with weapon finesse) or longbow.
I usually play characters with a high DEX, so I almost never use longswords or axes.

I remember these being in an old Dragon issue, but don't recall the damage value. What do you assign them. Also, what is their threat range and multiplier?

As for myself, I'm partial to quarterstaves and daggers (a tool and a weapon...same with hand axes). Having once beat down an SCA guy who was bragging about his staff fighting skills, I have to say it has a special place in my heart. :)
