Rules: No gaming answers of any kind. No video games. No board games. No Sunday crossword. Nada.

What are your hobbies and interests outside of various forms of gaming? When and how did you find yourself interested in that? If you can, describe the joy it brings you.

I write fiction. I want it to be professional but that has never really seemed in the cards. When I am doing it as a hobby, rather than dreaming of trad publication, I experiment with form and genre.

I think I am going to finally start archery this year. We moved up to my in-laws farm and have lots of land. Just have to avoid accidentally shooting the cows...
I read a lot, listen to podcasts (mostly about history and a little pop culture), and enjoy a lot of film and TV.

So narrative and historical studies for analysis and enjoyment.

I golf now that the weather has finally turned better up here in New England. I tend to go 3 days a week, but would like to go more once the rest of the kids are out of the house in a couple years. Ultimately, I would move to the Villages in Florida or something, but all my and my wife's family like around here so that is unlikely.

my dogs, and anything that involves them.
I love movies.
Yoga.
Reading, (but probably game related because most of what I read is sci-fi and fantasy).
Comics, (could also be game related).

These days. Mostly exercise; rowing, hiking, running, the gym.

Jeeps and guns, but I rarely shot or offroad anymore so it's more just reading about them (I mean I drive my jeep to work but it's not the same).
When I was in the army, I loved to shoot. Once I got out and had kids, I dropped it. Now that they are off to college, I think about picking sport shooting back up.

Music. I love to sing and am a karaoke hound. Im an ok guitar player and even less ok piano player. I have a decent size vinyl collection and stereo setup thats part old school ('76 receiver, '82 turntable) and part nu skul with Sonos set up around the house. I have been dabbling with a focusrite for recording but think I need to invest in a better one.

I've slipped into video editing lately (see some of my convention hype videos in the pineapple thread). I hadnt done any video editing in 20 some years (last time it was reel to reel) but fell down a deep rabbit hole with Divinci Resolve.

I was very into homebrewing beer and wine for a time. Now I tend to only do 1-2 batches a year. I still enjoy it, I just dont have as many occasions to hang and drink with a lot of people. I tend to go out more these days.

I collect movies, particularly Wuxia and Kung fu. I like weights. Used to do martial arts loke
Boxing, TKD and Muay Thai, but too old for that now. I like history books and I also enjoy reading about local lore. Enjoy going to historical buildings for tours. Music. I used to play a lot of guitar. Now I just play to relax sometime.

Younger: music, racing (drag, road course), off roading, horses, guns, camping, hiking, and writing fiction, non-fiction. Now more about occasional camping: up north in the Michigan Upper Peninsula, or out west on Bureau of Land Management land; hiking, a little off roading (just overheated the transfer case on my current rig), ride horses, or just help out at stables, though don't own any horses anymore, and still write stuff, fiction, non-fiction still. Sometimes I horse trade trucks and classic cars, buy something, trailer it home, spin wrenches, fix it, get it running, and then sell it. Always done mechanics, though getting too old for it.

Truck, went and got an ice cream at the place I used to take the family:
