What book to buy?

My cash flow has been lacking due to my employment status. This week I can finally get a DnD book, but not sure what one.

1. FR Underdark (love the setting)
2. Book of Exulted(SP?) Deeds.
3. Unearthed Arcana.

What book you think would be most useful?

Are you a DM interested in a host of variant rules? Then Unearthed Arcana, definitely.

Are you a player of a really REALLY good character, or a DM that wants to introduce "real" good into a campaign? BoED, definitely.

Underdark is REALLY cool, but is less of a "toolkit" book like the other two are. It's even mostly useful outside of the Realms.

That depends on what kind of campaign you use. I'd suspect UA is the most generally useful, but since it hasn't shown up yet (to the best of my knowledge, anyway) it's hard to judge.

Pass on all of those. Get Midnight or Dawnforge.

1. If you run an FR game then this is a good choice. If not its not worth much at all. Bit of a dissapointment really considering the Underdark isn't just limited to FR.

2. A very good book with lots of options for good characters and NPC's. Out of three, this is the book I recommend.

3. Not my cup of tea. I don't own it so I can't comment.

If it were me...

... I didn't find a lot of "great" material in the Underdark book that I didn't already have from 2E materials (for example Drizzt's Guide to the Underdark was actually more complete in many ways than the 3E FR Underdark book).

...I was mightily underwhelmed with Book of Exalted Deeds. Just in general.

So by process of elimination that leaves UA -- which I don't have and can't comment on.

Exhaulted Deeds was ok but seemed like something my players and I would have a hard time trying to play up to and I don't have the Underdark book.
My choice would be UA mostly because of what I have read about it here.
