I DM a Greyhawk Campaign, sorry there Nightfall ol' buddy, I've got all the SL stuff but just haven't DMed it yet. One of my group whats to start an SL Campaign and I got my character ready: Taerith Steel, Paladin of Corean and we're starting in Mithril! Another one in my group whats to DM an RL Campaign, though we're starting in his homebrewed world, and I've roled stats and will play a Bard in that one.

Odd that Kalamar isn't mentioned, being an "official" D&D campaign setting too...

No slam against Kalamar intended. I enjoy that setting quite a bit. That list was off the top of my head because you'll note I forgot Deadlands and Weird War II, as wel las Godlike and a few others I'm sure.

Forgotten Realms.

I just plain love that setting, plus the campaign book is one of the most well-done RPG books I've seen, ever. The only problem I have with it is the price: $40? That's pushing it a little.

Good thing I bought it off amazon.com for over $10 cheaper. ^_^

That's okay Alaric old buddy. :) You know I don't hold a grudge about you liking/Dming OTHER plays.

Btw, any chance you'll multi-class your paladin? Perhaps Mithril Knight or some other order? Or just strict paladin?

For many years I ran a heavily modified version of Greyhawk. Lots of fun with St. Kargoth (who slew Iuz and took over), Kas (who... sort of... redeemed himself and ruled Ahlissa), Orcus (with the many a'layered plan and a psychotic, reality-bending little girl with multiple personalities as his right-hand gal) and the nightmare things from the Far Realm (What's that eyeball on Oerth?)... :)

The campaign eventually started to evolve away from anything that would be considered "Greyhawk" in any meaningful way. Lots of ideas... that just didn't fit the style of the world. So I started to create one that did.

I tell ya, creating your own world from scratch - you can do ten times better than a generic setting *if* you're willing to put in the time and effort.

A'koss.

(who feels he should have started this *years* ago...) ;p

I said Other because I'm DM'ing Wheel of Time here at ENWorld. And a homebrew D&D world. And playing in another two homebrew D&D worlds. But if I DM a 3e game, I may well use the Realms.

I'm just about to start up a new campaign using Gaslight Press' Sun and Scale: The Gryphon's Legacy adventure. It contains just enough setting information to fire my imagination. It is quite bog-standard DnD but the premise of reclaiming lost parts of an old empire really compells me. The adventure is also really well done so it'll serve as a great jump off point.

After that, I'm going to continue the campaign by dropping in Necromancer Games' Tomb of Abysthor which is wonderfully generic. A few tiny changes here and there and voila, it fits into the Sun and Scale setting. It's also a fantastic adventure easily on par with The Gryphon's Legacy. So far it comes closest to recreating the "1st edition feel" of all the adventures I've purchased; a wonderful dungeon environment populated by great characters and locations.

I use the Umbragia setting.

How convenient, I only have to quote David;)

But I also play in a RtToEE campaign - so Greyhawk - and very irregularly in some nondescript fantasy setting DMed by a guy who doesn't like to prepare much.
