D&D General What Campaign Would Appeal the Most?

I'm the opposite, I would rather update the Mere of Dead Men series and play 5e/5.5e.

Out of the three though, I would rather the Netheril one.

None of these excite me. None of them tell me what kind of campaign it is, what we will achieve or who we are as players. There's no mention of powerful artifacts to be found, a winter queen who's sorrow has put the land in a frozen time or a fierce dragon having burnt a path through a kingdom now in shambles.

I personally get excited by an interesting story hook or a fun setting. Theros, Ixalan, Eberron, anything out of the ordinary.

The examples below are how I personally try to entice players. I know this goes way beyond what you might be looking for.

I do players guide for more info. Thus is the thumbnail condensed version.

My villains are normally behind the scenes types so they rarely know who they are early.

Occasionally it's different. Metheril one they've met the villain already but don't know.

2e Mere of Dead Men, no contest. Bring on the kits (Or maybe not. As much as they are a signature mechanic of 2e, I'm not always sure they were the right move)!
